The transparency of the external structure has been set to show internal structures. By doing this, the dosimetrist can easily identify internal structures while still being able to find reference points on the patient's skin. The RAHD design team found that true transparency gives the dosimetrist a clearer picture of how the treatment plan is developing. The alternative would have been to simulate transparency with a mesh that can hide details in the image.

Dose applied to critical structures and the skin give a clear indication of how the treatment plan is going to affect them.
